Number of flights between Iran, Iraq to increase
Tehran (ISNA) - The Civil Aviation
Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran signed an agreement with Iraq in the
air transportation sector that could lead to the increase of the number of
flights between the two countries.
“The agreement was signed between
the head of CAOIRI Ali Abedzadeh and Iraq’s transporter minister Kazem Finjan
to increase bilateral cooperation between the two countries,” the spokesman of
the Civil Aviation Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran Reza Jaafarzadeh
said.
“The purpose of signing this
agreement is to expand cooperating and ease the travel of pilgrims,” he added.
It also paves the way for legal
requirements of transportation cooperation and the increase of chartered flights
between the two countries.
According to the public relations of
CAOIRI, every week more than 100 flights are conducted between Iran and Iraq.
