Number of flights between Iran, Iraq to increase

Tehran (ISNA) - The Civil Aviation Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran signed an agreement with Iraq in the air transportation sector that could lead to the increase of the number of flights between the two countries.

“The agreement was signed between the head of CAOIRI Ali Abedzadeh and Iraq’s transporter minister Kazem Finjan to increase bilateral cooperation between the two countries,” the spokesman of the Civil Aviation Organization of Islamic Republic of Iran Reza Jaafarzadeh said.

“The purpose of signing this agreement is to expand cooperating and ease the travel of pilgrims,” he added.

It also paves the way for legal requirements of transportation cooperation and the increase of chartered flights between the two countries.

According to the public relations of CAOIRI, every week more than 100 flights are conducted between Iran and Iraq.
