China main importer of Iran petrochemicals

Dec 27, IRNA – A senior export official announced on Wednesday that 6.630
billion dollars of petrochemicals were exported in the first eight months of
the current Iranian year (started March 22) and that China was main importer of
the same products.
'In the first eight months of this
year, the value of basic polymers was 2.456 billion dollars, which has
increased nine percent in comparison with the same period of preceding year,'
Director for export development bureau for industrial and mineral products of
Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Masoud Kamali Ardakani said.
Kamali said China ranks first in importing basic polymer materials from Iran
while Turkey and India ranked second and third, respectively.
He said in this period of time exports of propane and Butane increased 16
percent and 1.476 billion dollars of these products were exported mainly to
China, Indonesia and Kenya.
Kamali said that methanol by 722 million dollars increased 21 percent by value
in this period of time.
According to the statistics of TPO in the first eight months of the year China
has allocated 20.2 percent of Iran's total export and ranked first in this
concern.
Exporting value to China was 5.748 billion dollars, which showed 14 percent
increase in comparison with the same period of the preceding year.
