Kish International Campus to attract non-absent conscripts for compulsory military service




Tehran (ISNA) - The deputy director of University of Tehran Kish International Campus announced new measures taken by this university to attract non-absent conscripts for compulsory military service.


The deputy director of University of Tehran Kish International Campus for communication and international affairs Parviz Rashidi said, “The university offers military service exemption facilities to attract non-absent conscripts living abroad”.


He pointed out that the facilities were provided by Kish Free Zone Organization and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.


Noting that Kish International Campus currently has different majors in BA, BS, MA, MS and PhD, Mr. Rashidi reminded, “Given the diversity of majors in Tehran University, in case of demand it is possible to set up all the majors of the main university on Kish Island using the professors of this university”.


He further stated, “Nearly 2,600 students are currently studying at the Kish International Campus, particularly at the master's level”.


"According to the signed cooperation agreements, Kish International Campus and the Polytechnic University of Milan in Italy, Sapienza University of Rome and the Macquarie University of Australia, will soon exchange students at the PhD level," Rashidi insisted.


“Kish International Campus has international majors in English and given the huge welcome by Iranian and foreign students, the number of these majors are increasing,” he added.


Already Sharif University of Technology in Tehran had announced that it would attract non-absent conscripts for compulsory military service living abroad by giving them the special facility of exemption from military service.
