Iran, Azerbaijan, Russia hold talks to launch Astara-Moscow passenger train
Tehran (ISNA) - The Director-General
of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways' International Affairs Department has
declared that Iran, Republic of Azerbaijan and Russia held a trilateral meeting
to launch Astara-Moscow passenger train.
Following the joint meeting of
border and railway officials of Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan, the
Director-General of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways' International Affairs
Department Abbas Nazari said, “The interactions between Iranian and Azeri
railway officials are great”.
“The North-South corridor is one of
the strategic projects between the two countries,” he added.
“The South-West Corridor and the
connection of Black Sea to the Persian Gulf is another major railway projects
in the country that will transport goods from European countries from Poland,
Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Iran to the Persian Gulf, India and other
states of the Persian Gulf,” the official went on to say.
“The bilateral and trilateral
negotiations between Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia have taken place in order to
launch the Astara-Moscow passenger train and the continuation of these
negotiations requires technical and precise trade discussions between the
experts of the three countries,” Nazari said about the Astara-Moscow passenger
train.
