discussed mutual cooperation with Director of Ar-Ru'ays Port Khalid Abdullah
al-Jabor al-Na'imi on Sunday.
During the meeting, ways to expand
bilateral relations, especially in the field of goods transport from Iranian
ports to this port, were discussed and considered.
Following the meeting, Baqeri attended border market and talked with stand
owners to be familiar with existing problems in relation with goods transport
from Bandar Abbas to Ar-Ru'ays Port.
According to a joint agreement 40 stands in border market of Ar-Ru'ays Port
were allocated to Iranian businessmen from Bushehr and Hormozgan provinces.
Many of stands were empty and the present Iranian businessmen said that it is
because of lack of storage and freezing house to keep goods and products in a
safe manner.
The port cannot accept big ships and only barges and small container ships may
berth in the port.
Handicrafts, nuts, cereal and date were among products in the stands to be
offered by reasonable price.
