Construction of the 2nd school for Afghan citizens starts in Varamin
Tehran,
Feb 3, IRNA – Construction operation to build the second school for Afghan
citizens started in Varamin city near Tehrn on Saturday.
Director of Education Ministry in
Varamin city Amir Mohammadi said in an inauguration ceremony that the school is
being built by cooperation of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
with a school making benefactor in an area of 3,500 square meters.
He said the land was donated by a benefactor in Reyhanabad village for the
school.
Mohammadi estimated the cost for building the 10 classrooms to be ten billion
rials.
He said that more than 48,000 pupils are studying in 110 schools in Varamin
city and one fifth of them are Afghan students.
Varamin by more than 300,000 populations located in 35 kilometers southeast of
Tehran.
