Iran Air pursuing delivery of Airbus planes



Tehran, Dec 17, IRNA - The Managing Director of Airline of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Iran Air) says regarding the contract for the purchase of 100 aircraft from Airbus the company is still tracking delivery of these aircraft through the European Union.

Farzaneh Sharafbafi said on Monday at the 3rd International Transport Fair of Iran, “As of today, three Airbus aircraft have been delivered to Iran, but we want Airbus to deliver its custom aircraft, according to the agreement.” 

Referring to a 57-year history of Iranian airline service, she said, 'Despite the outrageous sanctions, we have no worries about the company's management, and, thankfully, we managed to achieve good success in four areas of our expertise.”

Sharafbafi continued, “Good experience in the past years in the engineering and maintenance department has been obtained and in the design of some of the required Iranian devices we were able to use the capabilities of graduates and experts in Iran.” 

She noted that after the nuclear deal, we succeeded in concluding three major contracts with Boeing, Airbus and ATR companies, which included two Airbus 330 and one Airbus 321 and 13 ATR airplanes.
