This method was applied to patients suffering from lung, prostate and breast cancers in collaboration with four hospitals and the results showed that the method can be effective in treatment of these patients.

In an interview with ISNA news agency, Professor Qassem Ahangari from Medical genetics department of National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Medical genetics said, “During the studies, we realized an old idea about cancer treatment and the role of immune system that was brought out by Hippocrates”.

Hippocrates of Kos also known as Hippocrates II, was a Greek physician of the Age of Pericles (Classical Greece), who is considered one of the most outstanding figures in the history of medicine. He is often referred to as the "Father of Medicine" in recognition of his lasting contributions to the field as the founder of the Hippocratic School of Medicine.
