Shiraz to host OIC conference on computer challenges



Shiraz, Nov 20, IRNA – Iran's southern city of Shiraz will host an international conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on dealing with computer challenges.

Collaboration of Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be held in Shiraz on November 26-29. Experts from various countries, including Malaysia, Pakistan, Oman, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Brunei and Iran will discuss specialized issues at the first two days of the conference.

Mohammad-Hossein Sheikhi, Secretary of the conference, said that the event will be organized by Iran's Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.

The opening session will be attended by the Ministry head, Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi, according to the official.

The conference is aimed at sharing experiences of cyber security among Muslim countries, Sheikhi said, adding that the main topic of the gathering is cyber space threats with a focus on social media and mobile applications.

He also said that 12 of the invited figures will introduce their latest achievements while some 14 more scientifically-reviewed articles will be presented.
